  • What is the best way to improve the performance of a Laravel web app?

I have a Laravel based web app for chat. The app often feels really slow. The load time is slow, even though all the compression and minifications have been done. The response time of chat app is slow as well. Some users get chat reply with a delay. I suspect the issue is from the back end, because I have done my best to fix the front end issues. Can anyone help me in identifying the issue and how I can fix this speed and response issue?

Well, the possibilities can literally be endless as to what might be wrong. But you should look into the server latency, see if that's an issue; and look at your database, make sure it is properly indexed.

Furthermore look if the server is experiencing high loads when the lags occur.

This is just off the top of my head, but as I've already said, there can be a lot of reasons why a script/app is slow, and it's close to impossible to debug without going through it's source code.
